I recently started listening to more country music and one of my roommates actually showed me this song. I am a sucker for a catchy song and this is just one I can not seem to quit playing. I can't decide if it is how relatable the song is to the current hook up culture that exist, or just the fact I am so obsessed with the way McBride sounds in the song.
Her new single "One Night Standard" features lyrics like " You don't wanna hear about my last break up I don't wanna worry 'bout space you take up I don't even care if you're here when I wake up " the honesty behind these lyrics is so real and raw to me. 'One Night Standards' is written about the honest truth that majority of the time, people go to the bars just looking for someone to go home with to fill whatever void it may be that they have in their life. She mentions " I ain't gonna ask where your ring is; Thing is, we all got secrets" It happens more often that not married people go to the bars and hook up and think life will keep on going and no one will know what is going on. I catch myself singing this cute little song constantly and it is definitely in my shuffle at the moment.
